Bill 171 passed September 1st, 2007 amending the Dental Hygiene Act 1991 permitting dental hygienists to treat clients in alternative environments; alternative environments being independent dental hygiene practices, long term care facilities and mobile dental hygiene services. It gives the client the opportunity for freedom of choice to visit the dental hygienist of preference while maintaining professional contact with his or her dentist.

First Impressions Dental Hygiene Clinic follows the 2010 Suggested Fee Guide for Dental Hygienists set by the Ontario Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA). The fee guide is available on the ODHA website (www.odha.on.ca).

The ODHA fee guide is an independent fee guide which differs from the Canadian Dental Association Fee Guide used by the dentists, and is typically 20% lower that traditional dentist offices.
